have you read the first 5 chapters? cos otherwise it wont make ANY sense! yeah, this is the last chapter before i dive head over heels into the action.

Nice going, it's good to see some one taking their time to actually DEVELOP characters into definitive characters. Although it seems like filler to me at this point, it gives a good sense of how they live out of the army/marine corp.
